For the purposes of this Privacy Notice Canon is Canon (UK) Limited and is referred to in this Privacy Notice as “Canon”, "we", "us" or "our".
The entity granting you access to D2DExchange (“Company”) is a Canon customer that collects and processes your personal Data (“Data”).
The Company is the “Data Controller”, a “Data controller” determines the purposes for which and the means by which the Data is processed.
Canon is a “Data Processor”, a “Data processor” processes Data only on behalf of the Data Controller.
This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) governs Canon’s processing of the Data you and/or the Company has inputted into Canon’s software application D2DExchange (“Software”) for the purpose of capturing, processing, sharing and storing documents.
1) Controller Identity and Contact Details
Canon acts only as a Data Processor. The Company is the Data Controller of your Data and should provide you appropriate contact details.
2) Data Protection Officer
Canon has appointed a Data Protection Officer. However, Canon acts only as a Data Processor. The Company is the Data Controller and should provide you appropriate contact details.
3) Purposes and Legal Basis for the Processing
Canon will process the Data only in accordance with the agreement between Canon and the Company, including, but not necessarily limited to, providing the functionality of the Software, providing technical or functional support, and ensuring the security of the Software. Please contact the Company with any questions about its use of your Data.
4) Information Sharing
We may use third-party providers to help us to deliver our products and services. Third-party service providers are contractually restricted from using or disclosing the information, except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements.
5) International Transfers
If we transfer personal information outside of the UK, we will ensure that your privacy rights are protected by appropriate safeguards, in particular through the use of the Standard Contractual Clauses where a transfer occurs to a country without an adequacy decision.
6) Data Retention
Canon will retain your Data only as agreed between Canon and the Company and in accordance with applicable laws to which Canon is subject.

Canon acts only as a Data Processor. The Company is the Data Controller and should provide you appropriate contact details.
8) Automated Decision-making
Canon acts only as a Data Processor and does not make decisions affecting you. The Company is the Data Controller and should provide you appropriate information regarding its decision-making process.
